Perspectivas del Liderazgo del DRI: Promoción de Sociedades Resilientes al Riesgo con la Red ARISE México
En octubre, tuve el placer de participar en el exitoso lanzamiento de ARISE Mexico Network. Esta es la asociación del sector privado de la Oficina de las Naciones Unidas para la Reducción del Riesgo de Desastres (UNDRR). DRI México fue miembro del comité organizador y elogiamos su arduo trabajo para realizar este ambicioso evento.
Fui invitada a presentar el estudio de caso de cómo el DRI Internacional se convirtió en el proveedor global líder de capacitación y certificación en continuidad de negocio y campos relacionados, incluida la más reciente resiliencia cibernética. Compartí nuestra historia y estructura actual, además de enfatizar en la importancia general de la capacidad profesional y la estandarización de credenciales en este campo de rápido crecimiento. Este trabajo es demasiado importante para proteger vidas, economías y comunidades para conformarse con algo menos que los más altos estándares profesionales. Hemos visto que esta comprensión continúa creciendo a nivel mundial y esperamos que esta tendencia continúe a medida que la profesión madure.
Como parte del Marco de Sendai para la Reducción del Riesgo de Desastres, promovido por la UNDRR, se creó la Alianza del Sector Privado para Sociedades Resilientes a los Desastres (ARISE) con el propósito de crear sociedades resilientes al riesgo y unir al sector privado para colaborar con otras partes interesadas para lograr los objetivos del Marco de Sendai. Además, esta iniciativa promueve planes de prevención y continuidad centrados en reducir riesgos y consolidar comunidades.
En México, la red local ARISE MX abarca más de 200 organizaciones, gobernadas por un Comité Directivo que representa a 15 instituciones multisectoriales y una Junta Asesora compuesta por 6 expertos regionales. Esta red impulsa acciones e implementa medidas en los modelos de negocio y las decisiones de inversión de las empresas que forman parte de la red mexicana.
Esta conferencia fue organizada para promover los esfuerzos de creación de resiliencia en la comunidad empresarial tanto en México como en los países vecinos. La resiliencia es la capacidad de una comunidad para resistir, asimilar, adaptarse y recuperarse de los efectos de desastres, por lo que, ahora más que nunca, es importante preguntarnos: “¿Qué estamos haciendo para prevenir el riesgo de desastres?” Y comenzar a trabajar en los planes que nos permiten disminuir la vulnerabilidad y aumentar nuestra capacidad de resiliencia.
